To Kids From Kids is working with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) San Mateo. CASA partners caring adults with children who have come under the Court's protection because their parents can't or won't take care of them.
The children range in age from 3 - 20 years old.
The project has three parts: Fulfilling Gift Requests, Gift Drop-Off Day, and Sorting Days.
Since the Advocates work closely with the children the Gift Requests reflect what the children would really like. So this is the preferred way of making gifts.
The value should be between $25 and $40. Girl Scout troops or individuals can fill Gift Requests for one or more children.
If you would like to fill
Gift Requests, please contact Esther Heller by November 16. They should be available within a week.
Drop-Off Day Logistics
We will be collecting fulfilled Gift Requests and other items at the homes of two of our volunteers.
- When: Saturday, Dec 10, 10 am - 4 pm
Esther is in Menlo Park, near Hwy 101.
Shirley is in Menlo Park, near Hwy 280.
- Please contact either one directly to get address, directions and to set a drop-off window.
- If you would like suggestions of appropriate gifts beyond the Gift Requests, follow the Specifics link at the top and bottom of this page.
Sorting Days Logistics
CASA is in partnership with other organizations as well as To Kids From Kids to fill the Gift Requests. They would welcome some of our older girls to help sort all of these items and have them ready for the Advocates to pick up.
This will take place between Dec 12 and 16 at the CASA office in San Mateo.
Please contact Esther for details and to sign-up.
